THE LORD’S PRAYER (an introduction)

This message introduces THE LORD’S PRAYER as the central prayer of the Christian church; the New Testament equivalent of the “Shema Israel” (Hear O Israel). Jesus’ disciples said, “Lord, teach us to pray” just as you pray to God. This is how we are instructed to pray as children of God throughout the entire church age. This general introduction to “The Lord’s Prayer” places an emphasis on God’s paternity (Fatherhood). Scripture references include, but not limited to: Luke 11:2-4, Matthew 6:9-13, 1 John 4:8, Isa. 63:16, Isaiah 6:4-15, 1 John 3:1-3.
